The range of iconic wines from Bodegas Vicente Gandia achieves wonderful scores in the VinoVarietal 2023 wine contest organized annually by Verema.com. This contest recognizes the quality of varietal wines, those made with a dominant grape variety with at least 80% in its composition.
The wines from Bodegas Vicente Gandia that have obtained high scores are:
Ceramic Monastrell 2020, getting the highest rating, a Great Gold Medal. An intense, dark red wine with lively edges. On the nose, the aromas of ripe plum, licorice and notes of coconut and vanilla stand out. In the mouth it is broad, robust, with sweet tannins and elegant acidity. Leaving the memory in the mouth of these very ripe red fruits.
Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco by Pepe Hidalgo 2019, with a Gold Medal. A white wine aged in the bottle for 36 months, it has a high aromatic intensity, where fruity hints such as orange marmalade, ripe grapefruit and pomegranate reign.
Vicente Gandia Bobal Rosa by Pepe Hidalgo 2022, Gold Medal. It has a very pale pink color with copper reflections. On the nose it expresses delicate aromas of rose, red fruit and grapefruit. On the palate it is agile, fresh and on the palate very friendly and unctuous. In its passage through the mouth, a powerful entrance dominates that is chewed, with a lot of volume and body, reaching the heavens of the palate and leaving behind a sensation between saline and umami, with a fatty and enveloping touch, with a well-marked bitter finish which makes it longer and more serious, leaving a scent of white chocolate, almonds, strawberries and orange blossom petals.
This international competition has the purpose of give value to the viticultural plurality of the Spanish and international vineyards. That it is recognized and appreciated in all the markets in which the individual character of each vineyard is to be presented, and to highlight the characteristics of each grape variety.
