Decanter World Wine Awards is the most important international challenge in the wine industry. The scores of this competition are evaluated by a jury made up of the 116 best wine experts in the world, including 37 ‘masters of wine’ and 9 ‘master sommeliers’, blind tasting 16,518 wines during 28 days.
Decanter recognized two wines of Vicente Gandia: Ceremonia Reserva and Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco, both with 90 points. These two awards join the list of recognitions of the winery and supose a leap forward in the conquest of prestige in the international markets.
Ceremonia Reserva is a wonderful blend of the noble Tempranillo and Cabernet varieties with the indigenous Bobal. A signature wine from Utiel – Requena.
Made with grapes from selected vineyards at the Hoya de Cadenas Estate, where the combination of lime-clay soil and summer temperature contrasts – hot days and cool nights – are ideal for obtaining wines with intense aromas and excellent concentration.
Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco. This white wine has been made from Bobal variety red grapes. They have been hand-picked and whole pressed with a yield of under 45%. The grape juice is left cold with its lees for three days in order to absorb the colour extracted. Once cleansed takes place the fermentation at 14º C. The wine is then carted into French oak barrels once it has been measured and has completed its fermentation process.
A Blanc de Noirs made with the bobal variety and with the appellation of origin Utiel – Requena. A wine made exclusively by José Hidalgo, the winery’s Technical Director and a prestigious winemaker in the wine industry.
