Bo-Bo bobal Único Blanc de Noirs

Bobal

General Information

Appellation of origin: Utiel – Requena
Type of wine: Blanc de Noirs
Grape variety: Bobal
Alcohol Content: 12%
Serrving Temperature: 5-7ºC

At Bodegas Vicente Gandía we have been experimenting with the Bobal variety for many years to obtain modern, high-quality wines. At first the results were not particularly encouraging and we had to discard entire productions that were not up to par. But then we realised that, by pruning the young grapes to reduce the yield per vine, harvesting the old grapes and selecting the best, we were starting to get excellent results. The secret was in selecting only the best.

Elaboration

Made from red Bobal grapes harvested by hand and pressed whole, with a pressing yield of less than 45%. The must has been cooled on its lees for 3 days to absorb the slight colour extracted from its skins and has been fermented after racking off the clean grapes at 14ºC. The final part of the fermentation takes place in French oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Yellow colour with steely and reddish undertones. On the nose it is reminiscent of wild strawberry combined with white flowers and ripe white fruit. On the palate it shows an integrated and refreshing acidity with a long finish reminiscent of wild fruits.
