The AURUM EUROPA EXCELLENCE awards were presented during the CEUCO congress held in the city of Dijon, the capital of French wine and gastronomy.
The city of Dijon, capital of the Burgundy region and capital of haute cuisine and great French wines, was the venue for the celebration of the Annual Congress of CEUCO (European Oenogastronomic Brotherhoods Council), a European organization with headquarters in France that brings together the main brotherhoods dedicated to the divulgation and protection of gastronomy and oenology from their places of origin.
During this congress the “AURUM AWARDS 2022” have been given and Bodegas Vicente Gandía has been awarded in the “Domaine Viticole Europeen” category, being recognized as the best European winery this year.
The world of wine and gastronomy through its brotherhoods once again grants this award to Bodegas Vicente Gandía, which revalidates the distinction for the best European winery four years after CEUCO awarded it the same prize at its congress held in Athens in 2018. A very important recognition that the winery has highly valued and that has been its hallmark in corporate communication in recent years.
Javier Gandía, general director of Bodegas Vicente Gandía: “Being recognized as the best European winery in Dijon, the world capital of haute cuisine and viticulture, is for our winery and for Valencian wines in general a dream come true that reinforce the great work that is being carried out and proves us right in our firm commitment to high-quality wines”
With a history of almost 140 years, Bodegas Vicente Gandía is heir to an impressive legacy that serves as inspiration for the innovation carried out by the company, launching very creative wines without ever losing sight of tradition. The winery is currently managed by Javier Gandía, a member of the fourth generation of the family who is promoting a new oenological project led by its technical director Pepe Hidalgo. Since 2020, the winery has launched several iconic wines whose common thread is “singular viticulture”. As a result of the line of work of this oenological project, it is obtaining great recognition by critics, obtaining great milestones such as the Aurum award for the best European winery.
In the last two years, references such as the Bobal, Ceramic or Clos de Gallur trilogy have been launched on the market, wines that have consolidated Vicente Gandía in a segment of premium wines that can compete without any complex with the great references of the most world-renowned wines.
Vicente Gandía has an international presence in more than 90 markets and produces great wines in the main Spanish appellations of origin. It has an area of 500 Ha of its own vineyards, mainly on the Hoya de Cadenas Estate (Las Cuevas de Utiel) and on the Casa Gallur Estate (Caudete) where it grows a selection of the most internationally recognized varieties along with the most representative at an autochthonous level such as Bobal and Monastrell. The high quality of its wines and the good scores obtained in various international competitions made it possible for the company to be included in the top 50 wineries worldwide in a ranking drawn up by the World Association of Wine Journalists.
