Three wines from Bodegas Vicente Gandia have been rated as “excellent” in the latest edition of the Peñín Guide 2022, one of the most consulted wine manuals by amateurs and professionals worldwide. The Peñín Guide is one of the most influential publications in the wine industry. It’s the most complete Spanish Wine manual in the world, with an annual tasting of more than 11,000 wines.

The Peñín Guide considers excellent those wines situated between 90 and 94 points. These are the award-winning wines from Bodegas Vicente Gandia:

Vicente Gandia Bobal Negro by Pepe Hidalgo – 91 Points

Tasting note: This wine has an intense red colour and purple rim. Aromas of rich red fruits and English caramel with slight smoky notes. On the palate it well rounded and full, finishing with light notes of oak from its barrel ageing.

A wine from the Utiel-Requena appellation of origin that was released on the market in the beginning of the pandemic and ran out of stock in the first vintage prematurely agaist all odds. This new vintage 2019 appears on the market with the excellent rate from Peñín Guide 2022.

El Miracle Art – 90 Points

Tasting note: The result is a most elegant wine that perfectly balances modern wine making with a refined taste. Its colour is cherry red with violet tones, with a fruity nose and a masterly blend of woods. It is smooth to the taste with elegant tannins, full of flavours and excellent persistence.

A signature red wine made with a diversity of red varieties from Alicante that shows the most artistic side of the winery’s oenologists. It’s modern, daring and unique that marks a before and after in what has been offered so far by the Alicante region.

Ceramic Monastrell – 91 Points

Tasting note: Intense, dark red wine with lively edges. On the nose, the aromas of ripe plum, liquorice and notes of coconut and vanilla stand out. In the mouth it is wide, robust, with sweet tannins and elegant acidity. Leaving the memory in the mouth of these very ripe red fruits.

A wine from the Valencia appellation of origin that combines its aging in a vat with its aging in French oak barrels. Aging in a vat provides a lot of freshness and expressiveness, while aging in the barrel provides great finesse and elegance to our wines, while allowing them to be very respectful of the specific characteristics of our terroir. This wine will be available from September 2021.

Bodegas Vicente Gandía has received high scores in 3 wines from different regions of the Valencian Community, so we can highlight the high quality of its wines throughout this territory.

Therefore, the fact that three of the wines from Bodegas Vicente Gandia are included in this year’s edition among the best in Spain, affects the effort by the winery to produce wines that exceed the expectations of our consumers both national and international level.

These classifications are the confirmation of the constant will of Bodegas Vicente Gandia to produce high quality wines, taking as a starting point the hard work carried out in our vineyards, working throughout the year with care and dedication to obtain the best of the fruits. This leap in quality to high-expression wines is from the hand of Pepe Hidalgo, Technical Director of the winery.
