Bodegas Vicente Gandía, the most emblematic winery in the Valencian Community and a benchmark in the Spanish wine scene, proudly celebrated its 140th anniversary, marking a new stage in its evolution with a clear commitment to oenological excellence and innovation. Miguel Martí’s Telar served as the setting for this commemoration. The event, which brought together industry representatives, specialized media, influencers, and national and international collaborators, served as a stage to present the winery’s latest creations as part of its ambitious premiumization process. This strategy, initiated several years ago, seeks to elevate the winery’s prestige by producing high-end wines that reflect the character, quality, and authenticity of the Mediterranean terroir reflected in the vineyards of the three Valencian appellations of origin.
During the celebration, Vicente Gandía unveiled his new creations, which strengthen his position in the premium segment:
- Ceramic Monastrell Rosé: A signature rosé, aged in a vat, that fuses tradition and modernity with a delicate, floral profile.
- Ceramic Sauvignon Blanc: A vibrant and elegant white, barrel-fermented and aged in vats, that stands out for its freshness and aromatic complexity.
- Vicente Gandía Bobal Brut: Quality sparkling wine made using the traditional method, which highlights the native Bobal grape in a sophisticated and refined expression.
- Vicente Gandía Bobal Dulce: A naturally sweet wine also made with our Bobal. It’s surprisingly balanced with sweetness, acidity, and fruity depth. A winemaking gem.
The culminating moment of the anniversary was the Clos de Gallur Black, a limited edition produced from the finest plots of the Clos de Gallur estate, in the heart of the Terres dels Alforins. This wine represents the pinnacle of the winery’s oenological work, led by its technical director, Diego Morcillo, recently recognized as the best European winemaker. Clos de Gallur Black is produced with meticulous winemaking, extended aging in a selection of French oak barrels, and a refined image that reflects exclusivity. Once again, Bodegas Vicente Gandía is spearheading the sector by launching an ultra-premium wine at a retail price of €200. Clos de Gallur Black is aimed at the fine dining sector and the most specialized wine bars to satisfy the most discerning palates. This positioning reinforces the winery’s strategy, which year after year launches more exclusive wines, which greatly contributes to promoting the value of the Valencian wine sector.
Javier Gandía, general manager of Bodegas Vicente Gandía, stated during his speech: “Celebrating 140 years of history fills us with pride, but also with responsibility. This anniversary is not only a tribute to our legacy, but also a declaration of intent for the future. Our commitment to premiumization responds to a global demand for wines with soul, identity, and excellence.”
With 140 years of history, currently run by the fourth generation of the Gandía family and present in more than 90 countries, the winery has a history recognized for its commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation. Bodegas Vicente Gandía continues to write its history with a renewed vision that combines tradition and innovation.
