Vicente Gandía Bobal Rosa has been the winner in the “Distinguidos” Utiel Requena 2024 blind tasting contest, which was carried out on May 27, 2024, by a professional tasting panel, selected for the occasion from among the associates from ASVASU (Valencian Association of Sommeliers).
The objective of ASVASU’s “Distinguidos” Utiel Requena 2024 is to promote the knowledge of the wines covered by the DO Utiel Requena, among sommeliers, restaurants and consumers.
Bobal Rosa has been made by direct pressing of whole grapes. We carry out gentle pressing to extract only 50% of the yield and thus obtain a fine must rich in primary aromas. Before fermenting, we let it macerate for four days with its solid materials to enhance its body and roundness. It is fermented at 14ºC for three weeks and, subsequently, remains in contact with its lees for three months, generating a sensation of smoothness and volume in the mouth. Bobal Rosa is the result of careful and slow production, with an attractive image and enveloping color.
It has a very pale pink color with copper reflections. On the nose it expresses delicate aromas of rose, red fruits and grapefruit. In the mouth it is agile, fresh and very pleasant and unctuous to drink.
In addition to the Distinguished Utiel Requena Award from Asvasu, Vicente Gandía Bobal Rosa has obtained the following recognitions throughout his career.
