The writer and winemaker Joan C. Martín has been stressing for years that supermarket wines do not have to be of an inferior quality. “The most exceptional wines” from Anaconda Editions is the guide which includes 120 wines: whites, rosés, reds, and cavas, whose prices range from: € 1.90 to € 14.90. A new guide written by Joan C. Martín assists the consumer in selecting a wine at the supermarket, which helps them to identify amazing wines with the best quality to price ratio.
Joan C. Martín tasted 816 wines which he purchased personally from 14 supermarket chains across nine autonomous regions throughout Spain. Four Bodegas Vicente Gandia wines achieved outstanding scores in this edition.
Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Tempranillo was classified as the “Super Wine Of The Year” in the previous year’s guide and has once again been shortlisted among the six finalists in this year’s guide. The narrative describes it as: “This Tempranillo reserve is one of the finest red wines of its type”.
The Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Privada and Castillo de Liria Rosado wines were also awarded four stars out of five in this guide. A score which confirms that they are exceptional value for money. This highlights the fact that the Castillo de Liria Rosado is: “A fabulous fresh, youthful, charming rosé” and the Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Privada is: “A superb red reserve which is global and local, whilst being both classic and modern at the same time. A superb single-estate wine, albeit very cosmopolitan”.
The Miracle by Mariscal was awarded three stars out of five and Joan C. Martín describes it as: “Vigorous albeit a fine red at the same time”.
All of these scores point towards very encouraging news for Bodegas Vicente Gandia. The centennial winery considered as the “Best European Winery in 2018” continues to receive accolades and enjoy major success.
