Vicente Gandia is the only Valencian winery that has obtained some medals in the “Mundial de Tempranillo 2021”
Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Privada with a gold medal and Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Tempranillo with a silver medal have turned out to be the only Valencian wines that have obtained a medal in the competition “Mundial de Tempranillos” that this year has traveled to Holland for its celebration.
The jury was made up of importers, distributors, sommeliers, winemakers and journalists with wide international recognition. They point out that under the new contest format recognized by the large international sectorial institutions, the world model ensures that the award-winning wines can enjoy the greatest recognition and prestige by consumers.
From some 503 samples received in the “Concurso Mundial de Tempranillo y sus Sinonimias”, 122 have been awarded as best tempranillo wines. Vicente Gandia winery has awarded Gold Medal for the wine HOYA DE CADENAS RESERVA PRIVADA, and a Silver Medal for HOYA DE CADENAS RESERVA TEMPRANILLO, being the only valencian winery that has managed to position two references among the best tempranillos in the world.
HOYA DE CADENAS RESERVA PRIVADA (Gold Medal) is a wine made with Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon which denomination of origin is Utiel-Requena. It has an intense cherry colour. On the nose it has a rich aroma with complex nuances, with hints of cocoa, roasted and red fruits. On the palate we find a fleshy wine, with excellent assembly between the sweet tannins of the fruit and the dry tannins of the wood.
HOYA DE CADENAS RESERVA TEMPRANILLO (Silver Medal) made 100% with Tempranillo, it also has Utiel-Requena as a appellation of origin. It has a clean appearance and deep intensity with red-vermilion dyes. Complex aromas of ripe fruit and vanilla. The right blend of the Tempranillo variety with the generosity and roundness of Garnacha results in a smooth and velvety wine with an elegant and spicy finish. This wine has twice been the winner of the “Superwine” awarded by the Guide “The Best Super Wines” by the writer Joan C. Martín.
These deserved accolades are added to the list of awards that these wines have been obtaining worldwide, this will open up new opportunities within the national and international market.
