WHAT SUSTAINABILITY MEANS TO VICENTE GANDIA
At Bodegas Vicente Gandía, we know that organisations’ sustainability is key to their growth and prosperity. That’s why we’ve developed a sustainability plan as part of the IMPULSE Programme that promotes the following core areas:
- PEOPLE: : understanding society and our stakeholders and being able to meet their expectations and requirements in terms of issues such as equality, employment, safety and social welfare, creating partnerships to achieve our goals.
- PLANET: identifying our environmental dimensions and their interaction with the surrounding area in order to establish mechanisms to prevent pollution and protect the environment, committing to reducing our carbon footprint and using non-renewable resources efficiently.
- PRODUCTS: using innovation and creativity as a lever for adapting to the new situation, allowing us to continue growing in new markets and consolidating our position in existing ones with quality products, generating prosperity and economic growth.
The deployment of our IMPULSE program has allowed us to obtain the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) certificate in 2023. This seal, obtained after a verification audit of the four fundamental pillars of sustainability (Environmental, Social, Economic and Governance), endorses the implementation of the sustainability plan of Vicente Gandia.
This plan integrates the Sustainable Development Goals and is specified in objectives and goals to achieve them, the results of which are collected in the annual sustainability reports.

PEOPLE
We identify our stakeholders, those who can significantly affect, and whose actions may impact, our ability to successfully implement our strategy and achieve our goals.
This allows us to identify and meet their requirements and expectations, as well as to establish the relevant partnerships and connections in order to achieve shared goals on the road to continuous improvement and the sustainability of our organisation.
We have a code of ethics, a diversity policy and pass social audits that assess our level of compliance with the ETI (Ethical Trade Initiative) Code of Ethics and the additional requirements included in the SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) guide.
In addition, we adhere to the Luxembourg Declaration, so we are committed to integrating the basic principles of health promotion at work.
Planet
At Vicente Gandía we are firmly committed to protecting the environment and work to ensure that our wines are the result of sustainable practices at all points in their life cycle. To this end, we implement sound environmental practices and mechanisms that ensure appropriate control over the use of natural resources, ancillary materials and energy sources involved in all the processes of developing, making and bottling wine and sparkling wine.
Product
Food safety is key to customer trust and is a shared responsibility, among and within companies. That’s why we work with strict standards that guarantee the quality and safety of our products.
Every year we earn the highest rating in the BRCGS and IFS standards for quality and food safety, the most widely recognised and prestigious standards in the food industry worldwide. In terms of logistics, we are one of the few companies in the world to achieve AEO certification as an Authorised Economic Operator, which guarantees compliance with strict safety standards, legal regulations and economic reliability.
