calorias vino

How many calories does the wine have?

Surely on some occasion you have asked yourself some of these questions, and you have not found the answer on the label.

This is because wine, although it is a food, is exempt from indicating the list of ingredients and nutritional values, according to the current labeling legislation for having more than 1.2% alcohol.

This from December 2023 will change!

This December 2021, Regulation (EU) 2021/2117 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 02 December was published, which modifies the legislation that affects the labeling of both wine and aromatized wine products, which includes SANDARA that It is a flavored drink based on wine.

Labels in the wine world no longer allow for more information to be included except by modifying their sizes, which also influences designs and in some cases wineries may not even have the ability to label other sizes.

The Européen des Entreprises Vins Committee together with the Spanish Wine Federation have created a digital platform called U-LABEL, to be able to indicate the table of nutritional values and the complete list of ingredients in all the languages of the European Union.

To view the information, the wines will include a QR code that will lead to this U-LABEL platform in which we will be able to see, among other information, the table of nutritional values and the list of ingredients, but only legal commercial information of the product will not be available.

The U-LABEL platform has started to work in test mode, the wineries are uploading product information. From 2022 you will see how QR will appear on wine labels.

The U-LABEL platform will not be required to use, on the labeling it will appear either the QR symbol that takes us to the platform or the list of nutritional values and a written list of ingredients.
